Results for "What Would You Rather Be?"

I held a poll on "What would you rather be?" A singer who acts OR an actor/actress who sings.

The second one won by FAR. (Even though only two people voted.)

All two people voted for "an actor/actress who sings."

As you can see I have a new poll up. It is "A waiter messes up your order but is very apologetic. Do you give a...low tip, regular tip, or high tip?"

Keep on voting! Thanks guys!

Literary Festival

I entered a piece of writing (short fiction) into a writing contest called the "Literary Festival." The story was about a secret door.

So, on Tuesday (April 20, 2010), I took a bus along with other students from my school who entered a piece. (I had to miss some of art, geography, gym, and science.) We rode to a highschool auditorium where I saw my language arts teacher interview an author named Steve Mandell. Anyway, when it was time to announce the winners of the writing contest, the judges explained what all the different catergories were. THEN the winners were announced...

Well, guess what? I WON FIRST PLACE!!!! (a.k.a I was a "Critic's Choice Winner" and had "outstanding writing" apparently. At least that's what it said on the certificate.)

Yep, that's right. I won first place for best short fiction for my grade level. Because I won, I was given a blue ribbon, a certificate (like I said), and a gift card to Borders. I also got my name and my story published in a bound book filled with all the other winners. This book was given to classrooms all around the SCHOOL DISTRICT! I got my picture taken as well. I was shocked because when I walking into the auditorium, I kept telling myself that I knew I wasn't going to win anything. I mean what were the odds of THAT? But I DID win!!! YAY ME!

When we returned to my school, everyone from my school who entered got to have cake and lunch to celebrate! And when I went to Language Arts that afternoon, my teacher read my story aloud to my class, and all of my classmates got to interview me! It was so cool!

I fell asleep that night with a smile on my face! 8D!

What you do more often Poll Results

I held a poll recently called "What do you do More Often?" Do you talk to yourself or sing in the shower more?

According to the poll, more people sing in the shower than talk to themselves. One person voted for talking, and two voted for singing.

I know there aren't that many people who voted, but, come on. Gimme a break, I sorta just started this whole poll thing not too long ago. (This was my second poll I think...)

Well, I posted a new poll. Make sure you vote and spread the word! I need more voters!!!

Favorite Movie Snack Poll Results

You may have known that I held a poll.

It was "What is the Best Movie Snack?" Popcorn, candy, nachos, or none?

2 people voted for popcorn as their fave snack, and 2 people voted for candy.

I just wanna say thanks for voting! I really appreciate it, guys!

As you can see, a new poll is up, called "Which do you do more often?" so make sure you take a look at it.

I also will create a new post at the end of every poll to discuss the results. Keep in mind, I don't vote. I just watch.

Thanks again!!!! :)

Happy Easter!

Just wishing everybody out there a very happy Easter! Eat lots of candy, hunt for lots of eggs, and don't forget to remember the TRUE meaning of the holiday!

Make it a great one! :) :) :)

Babysitting

The other day I had to babysit 3 kids. Two five year olds (Mia and Joseph) and one eight year old (Jake). I was extremely nervous. I didn't think they would have fun or even like me.

They were over at my house when I babysat them, and when they first entered the house, they were looking at me with such wide, timid, eyes. I was even more nervous and speechless. Words wouldn't come out, and I didn't know what to say!!!

I had donuts out to keep them entertained for the first few minutes. After a couple seconds, Jake became chatty, and I knew right away that we wouldn't be just standing there looking at each other the whole time.

Eventually, after Mia and Joseph saw their brother talking, they began to talk as well. Turns out, all three were really great kids. We ended up playing Twister and Ping-Pong in my basement. They LOVED it. Absolutely LOVED it!

We also played outside where we played Freeze Tag, jumped rope, and just hung out. Jake ended up REALLY liking a small toy that he had found in the garage. I had forgotten about it. He was addicted to it.

Mia and Joseph kept getting scratched up, so I had to tell them to wash it out...blah blah blah. They were really cute. I felt bad for them, and it was hard to see them so upset and hurt. Jake was very chatty, and it was really fun talking to him. He had some interesting conversations he wanted to have with me.

When they finally had to leave, Jake was SO upset. He didn't want to leave which was very funny because his mom had said he didn't want to come over because he was afraid he wouldn't have fun. And NOW look at him! He wanted to stay and keep playing games. He loved that toy he found, so I told him he could keep it, and he was SO grateful and appreciative. I waved goodbye when they finally drove away, and they did too.

I learned a lot from those kids, had so much fun, and made them happy too. I was afraid they wouldn't like me, but guess what? THEY DID.

This is dedicated to Mia, Jake, and Joseph! GLAD YOU HAD FUN!!! (I don't even know if you're reading this...) :)
