Back to School
A lot has happened in the last two days.
My first day of school was this past Wednesday, the 25th. All my teachers are great--again!
So, today was my second day, and I felt that I needed to blog a little. Please keep in mind that I might be posting a little less during the week now that school has started up for me. Please forgive me. :)
My first day started off with my bus in the morning zooming past me and the kids at the stop. So we had to run and try to catch up to it. He finally opened the doors for us when we were out of breath.
Lunch was a little chaotic because the sixth graders didn't know their ID numbers, so they couldn't get money out of their lunch account. It took a while for them to figure out what their number was, so all three lunch hours were expanded, and my Choir class and Gym class were cut a little short.
By the way, my history teacher's HILARIOUS! I know I'm going to have fun in there...
At the end of the first day, I almost missed my bus because all the bus schedules are so confusing on the first day. It was like that last year, too.
But, today was normal. Looks like I'm off to a great start!

S'mores Poll Results
Chocolate won! In my recent poll, "What is the best part of a s'more?" marshmallow and graham cracker tied with two votes each, and chocolate had 3 votes! Thanks for voting everyone!
My fave is the chocolate. But what can I tell you? Chocolate is like my favorite food.
A new poll is up, and it's a little different then the others. You may select multiple answers. Lots of choices up there... :)
And be sure to check out the new riddle under "Riddle Frenzy..." third feature down on the left side of the screen.

Cooper's Hawk
There was a hawk in our yard yesterday morning. It was a Cooper's Hawk. Even though they eat other birds and rodents, they are beautiful birds. And, they have to eat too, you know.
He was walking around the bird feeder. Then he flew up onto electrical boxes near our yard. Birds were flying and bumping into him, and he was ducking real low. He flew over to our neighbor's swingset and just sat there for a long time.
Suddenly, a baby bunny comes out of one of our bushes. The hawk swarmed down and started to chase the bunny all around our yard. Baby bunny was fighting for his life and finally got away into the bush. I do realize the hawk will starve if he doesn't get food...I just don't want to see it in my yard.
A Cooper's Hawk is a very interesting bird. Here's a picture of one:

Look at his eyes! So serious...it's like he has eyes like a hawk! Oh wait... :)

Catching Up on Things
A lot has happened in the last few days that I have been forgetting to post.
I should probably start out by saying that I found my iPod on Wednesday. It had been gone for over a week. I guess I was wrong when I said I brought it in the house when we got back from Florida...Because, where was it? In the car, wedged far back into my mom's seat.
My mom had saw a glimse of it when she was getting stuff out of the back seat on Wednesday. Well, it was so far back, it was extrememly hard to possibly get it out of there. So, we tried putting the seat back, and that didn't work. Then we put it back up and spread the seat's fabric apart. I finally had to pull it out gently so it wouldn't break. And...success! It died as soon as I turned it on. At least I have it now!
Next thing that happened: Got invited to a party Wednesday as well. Swam, ate pizza, talked, compared school schedules, and watched a movie outside--Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. I might have seen that movie before...like when I was really little...but I didn't remember too much. Just one scene. Anyway, the party was a lot of fun! Did I mention I got bit by misquitoes like crazy? I had--no joke--twenty bites going up ONE arm. And tons on my ankles, my back, and one on my forehead. Yikes.
So, I'm just catching up on things here. A friend is coming over today. I haven't seen her in a while. Mainly because of vacations we've been on and things like that. I just feel really busy. :) I'm glad summer allows me to do that one thing I love. In fact, it's in my "Interests" on my profile--relaxing. :)

iPod Gone for GOOD?
My iPod has been gone for over a week now.
The last time I used it was our car ride back from Florida. I know for a fact I had it when we got home, and I noticed it was gone about two days after we returned. So it has to be in the house somewhere.
Now, here's the weird part. I've found my head phones for it... But no iPod...
I can't go this long without music, so I've been listening to music through the computer downstairs.
And now I feel like I'm going crazy! How is it possible I could lose something like this for so long! I've even had dreams that I've found it!
MY GOSH! SOS! WHERE...IS...MY...IIIIPPPOOOODDD?!?!?!?!

A Cove of Paradise...
Yesterday I went to a cove about 90 minutes away from me with my grandmother (who I call Mimi).
It was fun...and the pool was just amazing. There was a wave pool, a lazy river, and some waterslides. And that night, we went shopping. New pj's and jewelry! For dinner--Uno's Pizza!
The room was great...but you could hear tons of little kids running down the hallways screaming! I woke up a few times around 2:00am because of all the running!
In the morning we visited her work place (a spa) and the fitness club, and went to this breakfast place. The food was insane--my pancakes were bigger than a baseball glove!
Afterwards, we went to her place where she gave me a facial in her spa room... SO relaxing... and that night we had Mexican food. Had so much fun, and it went by too fast!
(By the way, I'm changing the poll. People either don't know what to put or don't like it. One comment said they would choose neither, so I'm going to change it without further notice and won't have results posted. Make sure you vote...anyone can vote! Also, check out the riddle. No one got the last one for the first time ever...so I posted the answer and a new riddle!)

Florida
So sorry I didn't post when I got back from vacation. I just needed some time to settle in, unpack, and most importantly...relax. Am I right?
Anyway, Florida was a lot of fun. It was great to see family.
We stayed in a rented house that was HUGE. It was incredible - the pool was big, there were balconies you could walk out onto from your bedroom, and there was a nice and cozy lounge upstairs right outside the bedroom I slept in.
We went to Universal Studios for one day, and Disney World for two days.
In Disney World we went to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood studios which was where I rode my absolute favorite ride in the history of all rides I've ever ridden in my LIFE. It's called...(drumroll please)...The Tower of TERROR! It's when you ride an elevator that plunges 13 floors! (You get that stomach in your mouth feeling.) It's all part of the whole Twilight Zone theme. I screamed my HEAD OFF! It was so cool. You wait in line in this run down hotel, and it was just great... You'd have to be there to experience the greatness, the pnenomenon, and most importantly, the TERROR.
Everything was just magnificent...and believe me (not making this up), I will ride ANYTHING.
It took us two days to get home just like it did to get there because we drove to Florida. It took about 20 hours both ways, so we decided to split that into two days.
It was so much fun in Florida, but it was also good to be home. :)
