(However, a new poll, riddle, and important dates are up!)
Thanks, everyone!

Logo Poll Results

Logo 2 won the poll!

6 people voted in the poll: "Which logo do you like better? 1 or 2?"

4 votes for Logo 2 and 2 votes for Logo 1.

That means Logo 2 will be used for the SmorgShow Podcast! Thanks for voting everyone!

I will post the new poll up soon. And I will be on vacation for quite a while, but I will catch up on everything when I return.

Vote for a Logo

My dad and I have been designing logos for the SmorgShow Podcast. We can't decide which one we like better. So, we got the idea to ask everyone here on my blog!
Please help us decide by voting for the logo you like better. Vote for your favorite off to the side in this week's poll on the left side of the screen.
Logo #1
Logo #2
Vote for your favorite logo on this week's poll!
(And don't forget to guess the answer to the riddle!)

TV/Movie Poll Results

My recent poll was "Would you rather be in a TV series OR star in a bunch of movies?"

20% said TV
80% said Movies

I would say movies probably because then I would be more well-known if I starred in a bunch of different genres of movies. This way, everyone could see me because everyone likes different genres as apposed to being in one TV series that lasts for a few years with only one genre.

Well, I will be posting a new poll soon. It will be different than all of my polls so far. You'll see! Stay tuned!

The Babysitter Returns

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking this is a preview for a new movie, right? Nope!

You know how I babysitted those three kids I told you about in an earlier post? Well, I babysitted them again Wednesday night at their house because my mom was going there for a party, and the host wanted me to watch her kids.

To refresh your memory, the kids' names were Mia (6), Joseph (6), and Jake (8).

When I got there, it was just Mia and Joseph. Jake was at a friend's house. Mia and Joseph (Mia calls him "Jo-Jo") took me down into the basement. I had brought a game, some movies, and Go Fish (because every kid knows how to play Go Fish). We did that for a while, and then another party guest arrived with her son, Aidin, who is also five I believe. So I watched him, too.

I asked the three kids if they wanted to watch a movie. After everyone said "yes," I asked them which one they wanted to see. Incredibles, Ice Age 3, or Robots. Mia wanted to see Ice Age 3, and Joseph and Aidin wanted to see Robots. They kept shouting about which one they wanted to see, so I finally said "Whoever wants to see Ice Age, raise their hand." Mia and Joseph raised their hands.

I said to Joseph, "I thought you wanted to see Robots," and then he said, "I changed my mind." Then I took another vote asking who wanted to see Ice Age 3, and then only Mia raised her hand. Joseph apparently changed his mind again.

So I finally decided to flip a coin (well, we flipped a remote, because we couldn't find a coin). We ended up seeing Ice Age 3. Mia talked through some of the movie, and told me some interesting things. I didn't mind. It was fun to be with them. Jake arrived towards the end of the movie from his friends house, so at one point, I was babysitting four kids. Three six year olds, and one eight year old.

My mom and I got home at about 10:45 pm. I babysitted for three hours!

But, I'm excited because I'm getting paid today, so...yayy!

Smallest Teddy Bear

I found a picture of the world's smallest teddy bear (actually it's called a commercially available stitched teddy bear, but that's too long) on http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/.

The smallest one is only 99mm long. That's not even a centimeter! Think about it. That must mean the teddy bear is this long: ______ Probably even a little smaller!

I thought this was a pretty cool picture, so here's the deal. I'm going to have it saved as a feature off to the side just like I do with the world's smallest horse. It will probably be under the horse. Just scroll down to see it!

Try snuggling with a teddy bear that small...I'd be afraid I would inhale it!

Make sure you pay attention closely. There is a lot of detail!
Hope you like it!

(Oh, and make sure you vote on the new poll and try to solve the riddle!)

LONG Night...

I just got back from a sleepover party.

We slept outside in a tent, and all we had under us was a tarp and some blankets, so I was sore in the morning from the hard ground. We couldn't go inside to sleep because they have two dogs, and I'm allergic.

Anyway, I was tired, and when I wanted to sleep, I couldn't because they were too loud. Then, they wanted to go swimming at 1:30 in the morning! (The friend who hosted the party jumped in the pool with her pj's on!) They kept asking me if I wanted to swim (but I was too tired because there was a long party I went to right before the sleepover party, and I had done lots of swimming).

I think I fell asleep after they started swimming, and I woke up to them screaming and singing really loud. Then, THEY HAD A TOMATO FIGHT!!!!! They were throwing onions and tomatoes at each other when I was trying to sleep. I kept waking up from them.

I finally went to sleep, and everyone woke up at 5:30. Then we went back to sleep and woke up at 7:30. Everyone was extremely tired, except for me...I slept the longest. But it was a long night...it was buggy and windy outside, and the ground was hard to sleep on.

Then we had donuts for breakfast.

After that, they started to swim, I wanted to but my mom said she was picking me up at 9:30 and wanted me to be ready. But then I couldn't stand it anymore, because she was late...and I thought I would have enough time to swim...so I jumped right in the pool with my pj's!

Five minutes later, my mom arrived, and when she asked me what happened, I said I had a sweating problem. (I told her I was kidding...) :)

What a long night it was...Phew...

BTW, a new riddle is up!!!! Do you know the answer???

Field Trip to Paris...In the Desert.

Had the weirdest dream last night.

It was the first day of Seventh Grade, and I kept getting lost. I was losing track of all my folders and classes. (The school was built out of bolders) The next thing I knew, the teacher announced we were going on a field trip to Paris. I went on a plane with the rest of the seventh graders. The teacher was the pilot, and he kept making stops because he was hungry for cookies or something. We made it to Paris in about 20 minutes. (Very realistic, huh?)

We got out, and for some reason we landed in someone's backyard. People were in the yard dangling from swings on their swing set. The swings were rotating around trees. Then, out of nowhere, the teacher (the pilot) asked for me and three of my friends to come with him. We ended up riding on a boat...in the desert. Yes, that's right. The desert of Paris.

A jumping cactus (there really is such thing...it's called a Jumping Choya that shoots needles if you get too close) shot needles at me in my back. The teacher was a wreckless boat driver!

Then I woke up right as the boat stopped in front of the White House.

It kinda gets me wondering what the heck happened to me thoughout the day that made me dream this!

P.S. HOW DO YOU RIDE A BOAT IN THE DESERT????

P.P.S. A new poll is up...VOTE!!!! :)

SmorgShow Podcast Commercial

My dad and I recorded a commercial for the SmorgShow Podcast we do every week. (Reminder: You can listen to the show right here at Ally's Perspective off to the side...just scroll down!)

Anyway, it's on a website called "Music Alley."

Click on the link to listen to it: http://www.musicalley.com/music/listeners/podshow_details.php?ShowHash=ae8a8fc6194e109b7dba73efa879b10d

To listen to it, click on the little play button that's marked "Play Promo."

(Heads up...it's a little cheesy.)

P.S. Here the little trumpet tune in the background? I played that on my piano keyboard! It sounds like clown music!

P.P.S. You'll hear someone laughing hysterically towards the very end in the background. It's me!

Balloons Poll Results

Poll Results for my recent poll -

If you held on to a bunch of helium balloons that took you right off your feet, would you... Keep Holding on OR Let go?

7 people voted. 4 for Keep Holding on, and 3 for Let go

I think this was a harder one. I might have let go before I went too high because if I held on, I'd be traveling to space before I knew it!

Also, sorry this poll went on for a long time. There were some technical difficulties (again), so I made sure I gave it enough time.

Check back for the next poll!

Success!

I love to write stories on my free time. I've been writing ever since I could hold a pencil my mom says.

Anyway, I have been working on one for a while, and I just finished about twenty minutes ago! Yay! I can't wait for everyone to read it. I have had a few people read the prologue, and everyone has said it's really good and they want to read more. Can't wait!

I feel so good...all though part of me is sad because I feel like I'm going to miss the characters.

But the most important thing is that it's done! Success!

P.S. Happy late birthday, Victoria! (It was yesterday...)

Tickets!

Today we went to a theatre in the city to buy some tickets for Brian Regan. For those of you who don't know who Brian Regan is...

He is the best comedian ever because he's family appropriate, and his humor is something everyone can relate to that's based on everyday things. (Picture of him attached above.)

We got great tickets! We're in the fifth row. However, last time we saw him, we were front row and brought some signs that said "We ♥ You Brian." He saw them and thanked us! He's so nice!
Anyway, I can't wait! We will be going with some friends of ours that are also Brian Regan fanatics!

(By the way, a new riddle is up, so be sure to check it out. Do you know the answer???)

Nice Weather FINALLY!

It's been really hot and sticky ever since I got back from Arizona.

Sure. There's nice breezy 70 degree weather when I'm in 115 degree weather in AZ, but as soon as I get back, it's hot and humid.

Well, today it's finally gorgeous outside! Plus, one of my friends invited me to go swimming today and to hang out at her place this afternoon. So, I get to enjoy it today!

(Applause)

So, here's my statement I'll be using today: Ahhh...nice weather...FINALLY!

Turtle Rescue (Part 2)

Yes, my mom and I are still freaking out about the turtle rescue from yesterday. Here's why.

We did some more research on snapping turtles, and found out something. What my mom did yesterday was extremely dangerous! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!!

We found out that snapping turtles have flexible necks that are capable of twisting back behind their shell so they can bite the handler. Also, their jaws are powerful enough to amputate a finger! Snapping turtles kick their legs so they can dislodge the handler's hands and drop the turtle. Their nails are sharp enough to cause serious lacerations. When they want to bite, they open their mouth and make a hissing noise. He did that to me when I got too close, but he (thankfully) did not bite. The turtle yesterday was kicking his legs to make my mom drop him, and his nails were scratching my mom. However, his nails were dull and were probably not capable of hurting her.

We sure did get lucky! My mom is saying she thinks it's a good idea that we read this AFTER we saved the turtle...what do you think? I think the prayer we said beforehand made a difference.

I'm just so thankful nothing happened to my mom AND that we saved the turtle's life! Boy, was my mom brave!

Also, I think when the turtle's leathery back legs were walking, it made it look like he was wearing pants! LOL

Here are some pics of snapping turtles I found on the web. Now you can see what we were dealing with!

Turtle Rescue

Earlier today when I was home alone, my mom called me when she was just a few minutes away from home saying she had seen a turtle in the middle of a street. She said that when she got home we would bike over to that spot and carry the turtle to the pond nearby so he wouldn't get hit by a car.

So, she got home, and we hopped on our bikes to head over to where the turtle was. But when we reached the spot, he wasn't there! We got off our bikes and went up and down the side of the road to try to see if we could find him. He was no where in sight!

So, just as we were about to give up and head home, my mom suddenly cries out, "There he is!" I turned to my right and saw a big black shell with arms, legs, and a head poking out. The turtle was in a ditch on the opposite side of the road--the side with no water...we knew if we didn't do anything, we wouldn't get to water and would probably die. We had to do something!

Neither me or my mom had the guts to pick him up...we were scared he would bite (he had a long neck!). Finally, after praying for courage, my mom picked him up as I made sure the road was clear. Once he opened his mouth and revealed his tongue towards me...yikes!

We crossed the street to carry him to the pond. After setting him down, what does he do? He starts heading towards the road again!

We finally had to move him again because he was headed towards a pile of bricks he started to climb on...if we hadn't picked him up right then, he would have fallen three feet off the bricks! This time, my mom carried him to the edge of a different pond, and he hopped right in and swam away!

When we got home, my mom researched what kind of turtle he was. She thought she knew the answer, but she wanted to double check. He was a snapping turtle...Good thing he didn't bite!

Anyway, my mom and I saved the turtle's life...it's a turtle rescue!!!

I'm Back!

Had a great week with my grandparents in Arizona. I got home with my mom just a few hours ago. While we were there we swam, played games, and just had so much fun!

Also, we had dessert every night, so that was really cool... :)
It was sad leaving them, but it was nice to see my dad again who had stayed behind. (Long flight by the way). Anyway, now that I'm back, I will catch up on everything on my blog. Thanks everyone for still visiting!

And I hope everyone has a great Fourth of July! Fireworks will be starting in a little over four hours here, and we have a great view of them in our backyard. Can't wait!

(I just realized that the flag picture I attached has only 48 stars, so it's pretty old...Oh, well. It still represents America!)

Pizza Poll Results

What's the best part of a pizza? Cheese, Tomato Sauce, Crust, or Additional toppings?

For my recent poll, cheese won with 6 votes, crust had 4 votes, additional toppings had 2 votes, and sauce had NONE!

I think sauce is the best part, and I can't believe it didn't get a single vote! (The sauce brings out the flavor...)

Anyway, thanks for voting... A new poll should be up shortly, so check back soon!
